HIKING

Given that Southern Africa has many natural outdoors spaces and an almost perfect outdoors climate all year round makes it a treasure trove of hiking venues. Hikes can be organized in almost any part of South Africa, including the business metropolis of Gauteng. Hikes vary from the difficult to the very easy. The adventurous traveller can spend a week hiking in the Drakensberg Mountains and view the highest peaks in South Africa, as well as the worlds highest non-continuous waterfall - as the Tugela falls more than 1km down a mountain face. Less enthusiastic hikers can wander around one of the many national parks or wilderness areas or organise a stroll in the winelands. Please always confirm with the national park that hikers are allowed before going for a walk as some national parks forbid hiking because of wild animals.
